Getting ready for a weekend trip or an epic globetrotting adventure? One of the most daunting pieces of preparation can be deciding what and how to pack.  But don’t worry! We are here to help you get started!  It doesn’t matter if you’re preparing for a trip that’s a couple of days or a couple of months long – the “Top 5”  items on the list below are versatile and essential for any trip you are planning.

  1. Anti-Theft Purse/Money Bag

When we go out, we need a bag to carry all of our necessities. As a woman traveling, it’s also important to stay safe in new countries or cities! That’s why we love anti-theft purses, money bags, or day bags to carry everything from a passport, phone, and wallet to lip gloss, sunscreen, and water bottle. There are multiple brands available that are both functional and fashionable, all designed to minimize the risk of theft. Check out one of our favorites here!

  1. Hanging Toiletry Bag

There is often limited counter or cupboard space in overnight travel accommodations, and it can be difficult to fit and organize all of the necessities in a traditional toiletry bag.  A hanging toiletry bag is compact enough to fit in a suitcase like a regular toiletry bag, but once you reach your destination can be opened and hung on a clothing rod, doorknob, or any other hanging surface to save space and let you access all your toiletries with ease!

  1. Packing Cubes

Continuing with our theme of organization, packing cubes are a lifesaver when traveling. You can use them in a multitude of ways to neatly organize your clothing and other travel items. They’re also helpful to store shoes so they don’t muck up other items in a bag or to separate dirty and clean clothes throughout your travels. Amazon has a ton of options, but this one comes in several fun colors and patterns!

  1. Scarf

A scarf is an absolute must-have, especially for the globetrotting woman traveler. A nice lightweight scarf can be used to quickly cover up your shoulders, neck, or head in more conservative cultures, to keep you warm on a cool night, protect your skin from the sun or wind, or double as a light blanket on chilly airplanes.

  1. Travel Memories Journal

Finally, any traveler can benefit from a journal to jot down the names of people you meet and places you go, store photos and paper mementos, and write reflections during their adventures. A basic lined journal would certainly get the job done, but a travel memories journal like this one is a fun and beautiful way to keep note of every adventure.
